The Black Stars had a very bad evening as their qualification chances became even slimmer after their one all draw

The Black Stars of Ghana once again left the pitch with a lot of regrets after playing a one all draw against the Panthers of Gabon. Trailing the score thanks to a shot outside the penalty box by Andre Ayew on the 19th minute of the match.

For their second straight match Gabon was playing without their talisman Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and their midfielder Mario Lemina. The Arsenal striker still had traces of the Coronavirus in his system.

The Panthers started the match well as their full backs made several incursions in the Ghanian defence but Daniel Amartey was very vigilant. Jordan Ayew gave had times to his marker on the other side. In the half-time Ghana was one goal up.

In the second half, Gabon exerted pressure on the Ghanaian defence but their attempts were not concretised. Dennis Bouanga was substituted by Jim Allevinah ten minutes to end of the match. Coach Patrice Neveu’s change was fruitful as eight minutes later he netted the equaliser for Gabon.

It was a bitter pill for Ghana as brawl erupted at the end of the match and their player Benjamin, Tetteh was given a red card. Ghana now have to win their last group stage match against Comoros keep their chances of qualifying for the next. On the other hand, Gabon are on the good foot make it in the last 16.
